Yeast Coast Sourdough Featured on News4JAX with Mom Made Jax

This morning, Yeast Coast Sourdough had the chance to be featured on News4JAX as part of Mom Made Jax, a Jacksonville market event series focused on supporting local mom-owned businesses.
Lissa Malloy, founder of Yeast Coast Sourdough, stopped by the morning show with the hosts of Mom Made Jax, as well as fellow vendor Avery Luce with Astro Soaps Jax, to talk about the upcoming event, our dried sourdough starter kits, and the story behind Yeast Coast Sourdough.
What started as baking bread for our own family slowly turned into sharing starter with friends, perfecting our methodology, and eventually building our kits designed to make sourdough feel less intimidating for beginners. Seeing that little idea make its way onto local news was honestly surreal.
One of the things we’ve loved most about this business so far has been meeting people who are curious about sourdough but feel overwhelmed by it. We hear it all the time. People assume sourdough is complicated or impossible to maintain. I even had the same conversation with the news anchor after the segment! Our goal has always been to make sourdough baking more accessible while still taking the process seriously and creating a product we’re genuinely proud of.
We’re incredibly grateful to Mom Made Jax for including us, and to News4JAX for highlighting local small businesses and makers in the Jacksonville community. We are looking forward to attending the market Friday, Mat 29th, and bringing sourdough baking to even more members of our community.
